End the 1% public sector pay cap.

End the 1% public sector pay cap.

Yesterday I cast my first vote as an MP, supporting Labour’s amendment to the Queen’s speech to end the 1% Public Sector pay cap. The Tories and the DUP of course joined forces to vote down the amendment, showing contempt for doctors, nurses, fire fighters, police officers and other public sector workers by cheering at the result. Theresa May has no mandate and promised the government would now listen, and yet it seems to be business as usual with a continuation of the damaging austerity agenda.
